Fire Safety Level 2 Award (RQF)

Event Description

The Qualsafe Level 2 Award in Fire Safety (RQF) qualification has been designed for anyone who has a specific responsibility for fire safety in the workplace, such as designated fire wardens/fire marshals. No previous training is required.

 

Objectives

By the end of this training, you will be able to:

  • Understand how fires start and the risks they pose in the workplace
  • Recognise how to prevent fires through effective hazard control
  • Identify safe means of escape and understand fire detection methods
  • Know how to use fire extinguishers correctly and safely
  • Understand legal responsibilities for fire safety at work
  • Know the role and responsibilities of a fire warden
 

Modules covered in this course

1. Fire Hazards and Risks
Understand how fires start, how they spread, and the hazards they create – even after extinguishment.

2. Fire Prevention and Protection
Learn how to reduce the risk of fire through good housekeeping, maintenance, and the use of fire detection and alarm systems.

3. Means of Escape
Explore what constitutes a safe escape route and how to ensure they remain effective.

4. Firefighting Equipment
Discover the different types of extinguishers and fixed firefighting systems – and how to use them safely (optional hands-on demonstration where available).

5. Fire Safety Management
Understand the employer and employee duties, fire inspections, and the fire risk assessment process.

6. The Role of the Fire Warden
Know what a fire warden does during an emergency and day-to-day – including fire drills and staff briefings.

 

Certification

Participants will take a multiple-choice theory assessment. A minimum score of 20 out of 30 is required to pass.

Successful Learners will receive the Qualsafe Level 2 Award in Fire Safety (RQF), valid for 3 years.
