Course Suitability

This course is designed for those with administrative responsibilities for the maintenance of electrical equipment and for those carrying out the role of practical inspection and testing of electrical equipment.

Pre-requisites

- Delegates should be familiar with electrical systems and electrical hazards prior to attempting this course.
- Delegates must be over the age of 18.
- Delegates must have a good level of English and basic numeracy.
- Delegates must have good colour vision.

Course Content

Equipment Construction
- Types of equipment and classification marks 
- Show how electric shock can occur through lack of basic protection or inadequate fault protection
- Explain how the different equipment construction types provide protection
- State the effect of cord set and extension lead earth resistance on disconnection times under earth fault conditions
- State the need for RCD protection
